    ASTEP : The AStep is a framework that attaches to the undercarriage of the helicopter. It is comprised of a middle step and a lower step, with two hand rails on each side. Both doors on the pilot's side of the helicopter are removed, as well as the co-pilot seat is removed and replaced with a storage/utility box. Various safety procedures are employed during the transfer of the lineman.

    • Designed and built specifically for the transfer of linemen on energized power lines and for mid-span work.

    • Approved by Transport Canada and complies with Canadian and Provincial Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Regulations.

    • Provides an extended solid support for the linemen when transferring

    • Unique travel restraint attachment points that are approved by Transport Canada.

    • No risk of fall for the lineman; the worker is always connected to a certified and rated fall protection device.

    • The stainless steel loops and horizontal bars are used to park the bonds and the tools.

    • Provides a "safe space" for the linemen in case of emergency situations.
